We are thrilled to announce the shortlisted poets for the 2024 Frances Browne Multilingual Poetry Competition! 🌟 This year, we’ve received an incredible range of submissions from poets all around the world, celebrating the unique heritage of East Donegal in the English, Irish, and Ulster Scots languages. Our judges had the challenging task of narrowing down the entries, and we’re excited to share the shortlist with you!
The winners will be announced at our Poetry Awards Ceremony, a highlight of the Frances Browne Literary Festival. We warmly invite all our poets to attend this special evening of celebration. ✨
Our guest speaker for the night will be Nessa O'Mahony, an acclaimed poet and editor. Nessa will deliver a keynote talk that promises to inspire, and we’ll also hear from poets as they read their shortlisted works in all three of our festival's featured languages – English, Irish, and Ulster Scots.
This promises to be a truly unique and heartfelt evening, filled with poetic voices from diverse backgrounds. We hope you can join us to experience the beauty and power of spoken word in its many forms.
